A Halloween Absurdity

As far as I'm concerned, candy is an important part of Halloween, especially for children. The school my 8 year old daughter attends sent a note home right before Halloween discouraging the passing out of Halloween candy by the children to their classmates. They encourage, instead, the passing out of "nutritious treats such as apples or raisins." I didn't let my daughter do that because I kind of don't like it when she gets punched in the face.
